Annual Meeting

This is a reminder that your annual homeowners association meeting is scheduled for Tuesday March 2, 2010 at the Farm Bureau building at 325 South Higley Road. The meeting will begin at 6:30pm.

So, this is just for Higley Groves West, but if that is where you live, please come out.

Rain in the Ranch

Well, Sunday ended up with .26 inches, and Monday had a whooping .40 inches. That's a lot of water in two days.

Those sprinklers are off, right?

Solar Meeting Tonight

The Arizona Solar Society, a group that promotes solar energy in Arizona, is sponsoring a free Solar Town Hall Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Maricopa Southeast Regional Library, 775 N. Greenfield Road, Gilbert.

Rain in the Ranch

Yesterday seemed to have a fair amount of rain. I know I thought it did when I was riding my bike through it! But the gauge shows only .07 inches through the day to midnight. As of 7am this morning, we have another .06 inches, but, it is raining as we speak. So, more info to come.

Change of day for recycle coming

On April 5th, the Town is Gilbert is changing the days of the week they will pick up trash. For us, it will only affect the recycled blue bin. But I am not mentioning which day it will be, because I don't want to confuse people and have them put their bin out on the wrong day now.

The change happens the week of April 5th. In the meanwhile, everything is normal.

By the way, this was a staff suggestion for saving the Town money. I don't know how that works, but I hope it works out.

Bulk Trash

Tomorrow begins the bulk trash week for the whole of Morrison Ranch.

We have a new tenant in Lakeview Village

I haven't checked out Dance Republic in person yet. But you can tell driving by that they teach lots of kids. The dance studio and sidewalk are full of kids already. They are right next to Bashas' on the south side.

Rain in the Ranch

I am a day late, but we had .15 inches of rain yesterday morning.

Shop Gilbert!

You are going to buy things. You will pay sales tax. If you buy those things along US-60, you are probably in Mesa, and helping to fund government in Mesa. I am sure they are very grateful. But if you live in Morrison Ranch, you might want to see if you can make the same purchase for the same price in Gilbert, and have that sales tax fund OUR government. I don't make this a law for myself, but I think about it most all the time, from gas purchases to home improvements, etc. Think about it. And you can read more from the Chamber here.

Memorial and Fund Raiser for Officer Shuhandler

There will be a Memorial Service for Lt. Shuhandler on Wednesday night at 6 pm in front of the Gilbert Public Safety Memorial.
Please note that tonight there is public visitation from 4 to 8 pm at Sinai Mortuary.

Save the Date

There will be a youth fishing day at the Town Center Lake next to Farm Bureau on March 20th. More details to come.

Officer down

We have lost our second police officer on the job. And this one was about as bad as it gets - what looked like a routine traffic stop ended with a gun battle. So sad. You can read about it here.
