The evidence is in
Good news for Morrison Ranch in the middle of plenty of bad news in housing.
First, Gilbert had 10% of all single family detached residential (SFR) building permits in Maricopa County in January. That number was only 41, but that meant the entire Valley had only 410 +/-. I was told specifically that the city of Glendale had one (1) permit. That includes all the edge communities like Queen Creek and Buckeye, though not into Pinal county.
Next most of those were in Morrison Ranch. Well, it was not “most”. It was only 30%. So with Power Ranch, Seville, and Spectrum still in action, which are master planned communities, and probably 15 smaller subdivisions under way at the downturn, including Trend Homes just south of us, Morrison Ranch generated 30% of the building permits in Gilbert in January.
The moral: Gilbert is one of the best places in the Valley to live, and Morrison Ranch is currently the most popular place to buy a new home in Gilbert.
Rain in the Ranch
Sorry I am late. Didn't that seem to come out of nowhere yesterday? Anyway...
.28 inches yesterday morning.

Nobody seriously hurt
Read this.
This was right across the corner from our office. I worried about injuries. I am sure there were some, but apparently not serious. For that I am thankful. I just hate the sound of screeching tires outside the office.

More Rain in the Ranch
Last night we got .55 inches. That is "a month's worth" in terms of the annual average. And I am so thankful for the snow pack which will fill the lakes and help the forest flourish.

Rain in the Ranch
As of noon on Monday, we got .20 inches over the weekend. It sure looks like more is coming, and other places in the Valley got more, but that is all so far.

That is OUR Power Rd.
Read here about The Power Road Corridor. This is really starting to happen, and we hope to contribute to it in the next couple of years.

Candidate Forum Today
The Tribune is sponsoring a candidate forum tonight at 6:30 at the Gilbert Town Hall. One of the candidates running for reelection is Joan Krueger, above. I think she has done a great job. Here is her website.
