Something is a little fishy around here

Comments from The Water Expert:

We will need additional visits throughout the weeks when the cold weather is here just to clean up the dead fish. This will be only for Town Center North lake. We did not stock any Tilapia at Highland Groves.

The problem is Tilapia can’t take cold water. So when the water temperature stays below 55 degrees the fish die. Then the birds peck at them and bring them up on shore for food. The upside is Tilapia have a preference for eating duckweed and filamentous alga, they also consume mosquito larvae. So I am willing to tolerate this dieoff a couple of times a year for what they contribute. Plus the dead ones that sink to the bottom are great food for our catfish that are bottom feeders. It’s a nice little system.

Any questions please ask.

So, when you see some dead fish at Town Center Lake, you will understand. We will keep things as cleaned up as possible.
